Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Automotive HMI Developer to join our team in Chennai. This role is focused on designing, developing, and implementing innovative Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) for next-generation in-vehicle infotainment and cockpit systems. You will leverage your expertise in the Android framework and related technologies to create intuitive and engaging user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cutting-edge automotive HMI applications using Java and Kotlin.
- Work extensively with the Android framework and Android SDK to create robust and scalable user interfaces.
- Customize and integrate features within the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) for specific automotive requirements.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate design concepts into functional HMI applications.
- Perform debugging, testing, and optimization of HMI software for performance and reliability.
- Integrate HMI with vehicle data, controls, and other automotive systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 to 7 years of experience in Android application development, with a focus on automotive HMI or embedded Android.
- Proven proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the Android framework and Android SDK.
- Familiarity with AOSP architecture and customization.
- Experience with Android UI design principles and best practices.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) or cybersecurity in automotive.
- Experience with graphics frameworks like OpenGL ES or Vulkan.
