Position: Vehicle safety Lead Attributes Engineer (TT38ST RM 3950)

About the Role
We are seeking a Vehicle Safety Lead Attributes Engineer to lead and manage vehicle safety attribute development and validation across automotive programs. You will define safety targets, coordinate cross-functional safety activities, support verification and compliance, and drive continuous improvements in vehicle safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead vehicle safety attribute definition, tracking and validation from concept through release
  • Coordinate safety risk mitigation plans and closure of safety issues
  • Collaborate with design, systems, test & validation, and compliance teams
  • Prepare, review and validate safety test plans, results and reports
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action for safety attribute gaps
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations (ISO, FMVSS, NCAP etc.)
  • Lead cross-functional technical reviews and safety gating meetings
  • Support safety performance analysis using data from vehicle tests and simulations
  • Communicate safety updates, progress and escalations to program leadership

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–8 years of experience in vehicle safety engineering or vehicle attribute management
  • Sound understanding of vehicle dynamics, passive and active safety systems
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards/regulations (ISO 26262, FMVSS, NCAP, UNECE etc.)
  • Experience in safety testing, validation, and compliance
  • Ability to analyze safety test data and generate actionable insights
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
  • Experience with safety performance tools and simulation environments
  • Exposure to functional safety frameworks and hazard analysis
  • Working knowledge of vehicle systems and safety architectures
