Education Required: Bachelor’s / Masters / PhD: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Relevant Experience required: 4+ years in ETL / Data Integration

Must have skills:

• ETL engineering and software development fundamentals, including SDLC and delivery best practices
• Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle) experience delivering production ETL
• SQL (analysis, troubleshooting, and query optimization)
• Moving/transformation large datasets in production with attention to reliability and performance
• Integrating multiple source types (RDBMS, files, APIs/web services) and validating data quality
• Work independently, manage priorities, and communicate status, risks, and tradeoffs clearly

Good to have skills:

• PHP and Laravel application development and/or production support experience
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and/or MySQL, including stored procedures and performance tuning
• Comfort working in Linux and with automation/scripting (shell, PL/SQL, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
• Git-based workflows (branching, pull requests, code reviews) and Agile/Scrum delivery
• Familiarity with scheduling/monitoring tools and/or Pentaho plugin development

Any other skills:

• Hands-on and accountable for delivering working, supportable solutions
• Clear communicator who can translate between business needs and technical implementation
• Quality-focused (testing, monitoring, documentation) with attention to reliability and maintainability
• Calm under pressure when responding to incidents and prioritizing production work

Roles

• ETL / Data Integration Consultant to augment our development team by delivering reliable Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle) pipelines, automation, and production support for business-critical data workflows and PHP Laravel applications.
• This is a hands-on role for a strong problem solver who can work independently, partner effectively with business and technical stakeholders, and improve data quality, throughput, and operational stability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle) ETL solutions end-to-end (requirements through deployment and documentation)
• Develop and optimize scalable pipelines integrating relational databases, flat files (CSV/XML/JSON), and APIs/web services
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive fixes and monitoring improvements
• Support and enhance existing ETL jobs, integrations, and PHP Laravel applications as needed
• Participate in reviews, continuous improvement, and the standard business hours support rotation
