Job Description:
Systems Engineer (EWF) to support memory‑centric system analysis for Mobile and Client computing platforms. The role focuses on DDR / LPDDR‑based power, performance, and workload analysis to influence next‑generation system and product decisions.
This is a hands‑on engineering role with direct interaction across System Architecture, Product, Design, and Workload Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform system‑level analysis of DDR / LPDDR (LPDDR4/5/5X preferred) on mobile and client platforms
- Execute power and performance characterization across real workloads (AI, graphics, gaming, productivity, idle/active states)
- Analyze memory bandwidth, latency, power states, DVFS behavior, and memory usage patterns
- Support workload profiling and characterization on Android and/or Client OS platforms
- Prepare required scripts and utilities for Workload Characterization.
- Provide data‑driven feedback to System Architecture and Product teams on:
o Memory features, configurations, and trade‑offs
o System guides, TRDs, and feature requirements - Conduct comparative / competitive analysis and generate KPIs for internal reviews
- Support customer/OEM debug and evaluation activities as needed
- Create clear technical documentation, dashboards, and analysis summaries
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in processor, SoC, or memory domains (Mobile and/or Client platforms)
- Strong fundamentals in DDR / LPDDR architecture (LPDDR experience strongly preferred)
- Strong Programming Skills in C or Python
- Hands‑on experience in:
o Power analysis (active, idle, standby, workload‑driven)
o Performance analysis (bandwidth, latency, bottlenecks) - Understanding of memory controllers, power states, clocks, and interconnects
- Experience working with real hardware platforms (phones, dev boards, client systems)
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with LPDDR5 / LPDDR5X or DDR5
- Exposure to AI / ML, graphics, or performance‑intensive workloads
- Familiarity with Android or Client OS power/perf frameworks
- OEM or customer‑facing debug / analysis experience
- Ability to work across HW–SW system boundaries
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently with high ownership
- Clear technical communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable collaborating across cross‑functional engineering teams
Engagement Notes
- This is a contract (EWF) role intended to augment system architecture and analysis capacity
- Individual contributor role with high technical impact and clear deliverables
