Education Required: Bachelor’s / Masters / PhD – BE, Mechanical

Must have skills:
Mechanical Design and drafting using CAD Tools, (SolidWorks / ProE), design of casting and machined Parts, manufactured parts with respect to design (drawing) deviations, GD&T, Tolerance, Communication Skills, Workbench (good to have)

Job description:
Redesign of cast parts for machine parts due to low quality of cast products.
1.Assess the feasibility of converting machined casting parts to machined hog-outs.
2.Develop initial design concepts for machined hog-outs and explore manufacturability.
3.Develop and present a capable preliminary design.
4.Finalize the design and conduct Critical Design Review (CDR).

Minimum skill set expected

• Graduate in Mechanical Engg. with 5 years’ hands on experience in Mechanical Design and drafting using CAD Tools, (SolidWorks / ProE)
• Experience in design of casting and machined Parts
• Assessment of manufactured parts with respect to design (drawing) deviations.
• Good understanding of GD&T , Tolerance stack up analysis, Drawing interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Hands on experience working on operation support engineering, Casting/ Machining drawings, MRB activities.
• Experience in part inspection, first article inspection report reviews, interpretation of inspection reports.
• Experience using PLM tools.
• Experience in preparing technical justification reports for the dimensional deviations and effects on part functionality in MS word
• Ability to handle US customers with good communication skills
• Work independently with minimum supervision
