Position: Automotive Product Development Engineer (PDC) (TT35ST RM 4199)
Scope of Role:
VA Concepture GR2 is responsible for PDC (IP assy) product integration, development according to standards and guidelines. Translate defined product design performance criteria in CAD data & specifications.
Area of Responsibility:
The architect is responsible for the integration of all components in their respective zone and how they mount to the BIW / painted structure. Should be able to finalize integration with specified requirement and publish the report to get approved in integration meeting.
- To be able run the Generic Model in Catia to check the Pedestrian, Ergo & Passive safety requirements
- To able to understand and check the Archi rules (RCC) (OEM checklist to clear the digital phase), check the Clash & Clearance during the D-lot with Clear Ki synthesis / Action plans
- To create F.I (Interface sheet), Allocated volume and standard section and to be released to PFEs using NPDM (OEM System)
- Creating and defining the geometry monitoring plan
- Ensuring the contents of all the geometrical reference files
- Feasibility Check for modularity and uses of existing components
- Define the interface & allocated volumes
- Adequate knowledge of plastic moulding and design process, DFMEA, DVP, DFA/DFM.
- Knowledge of GD&T, component drawings, Standards and Guidelines etc.
- Ensuring that the all project deliverables is met at given time with Dashboard document.
- Identifying all risks of the programme and make appropriate capitalization documents (Lessons learned, Technical Reports) to feed/improve Design and Development standards and guidelines.
Knowledge / Experience Essential:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of automotive product engineering experience required specifically in automotive Exterior/interior trim integration
- Extensive experience in using CATIA V5 / V6, PLM (TCE)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good Knowledge of and/or training in:
o Min 3+ years in CAR Upper body zones
o Knowledge in vehicle assemblies and Datum structure of the parts
o Capable of understanding Fit & Finish of the vehicle and able to benchmark competitors.
o Should be possess good experience in part, vehicle interface and packaging conditions.
o Capable of using Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
o Understands and able to use OEM internal databases as required (after training)
o Capable of understanding Milestones and its deliverables
o Plastic injection moulding processes (both tooling and design)
o Global Exterior trim regulations (Knowhow of Indian standards will be an added advantage) - Working knowledge of project delivery processes.
- Working experience with global OEM cross functional teams will be an added advantage.
- Should be good Team player with positive attitude & good approach.
