Position: Design Engineer – Safety & Restraint Systems (TT35SF RM 4149)

Scope of Role:
Design Engineer is responsible for Safety & Restraint systems development and details product design according to standards and guidelines. Translate defined product design performance criteria in CAD data & specifications
Area of Responsibility:
This position is responsible for new design and development of Safety & Restraint systems seat belt, airbag, Airbag ACU, Sensors and steering wheel components.
- Provide CAD support, leading and progressing the design in line with the program timescales and deliverable cadence
- Ensure data is up to date and reflects the required levels of maturity at any given point in time.
- Basic Knowledge of Safety & Restraint systems (Compliance with FMVSS 210 / ECE R14, FMVSS 226, FMVSS201 standards.)
- Anchorage strength and positioning for optimal occupant restraint. Integration with seat structure and vehicle body
- Basic knowledge of DFMEA, DVP, DFA/DFM.
- Ensure DMU review Inside system & with environment before each data delivery.
- BOM creation & Data storage PLM using assembly resolution
- Creation of drawing and 2D drafting of Assembly and components.
- Product/ process constraints during the design reviews (Geometry, Process, Packaging, etc)
- Preparing technical presentation/ documents to highlight issues and provide feasible solutions for the same.
- Knowledge of GD&T, component drawings, Standards and Guidelines etc.
- Ensuring that the all-project deliverables is met at given time with Dashboard document.
- Design the parts using Renault design standards, must have good command over CATIA/NX (Surface, Solid & Drafting)
Knowledge / Experience Essential:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of automotive product engineering experience required specifically in automotive Safety & Restraint systems and component design
- Extensive experience in using CATIA V5 / V6, PLM (TCE)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good Knowledge of and/or training in:
o Safety & Restraint systems parts specific manufacturing requirement (both tooling and design)
o Design and development knowledge of Safety & Restraint systems & components.
o Knowledge of Safety & Restraint systems regulations is added advantage
o Excellent communication Skills
o Capable of using Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word - Working knowledge of project delivery processes.
- Working experience with global OEM cross functional teams will be an added advantage.
- Should be good Team player with positive attitude & good approach.
