Position: Durability Attribute Lead Engineer (TT38ST RM 3951)
About the Role
We are looking for a Durability Attribute Lead Engineer with 3–8 years of experience in automotive durability engineering to own durability attribute definition, testing, analysis, and integration across vehicle programs. You will drive durability validation plans, lead cross-functional coordination, and ensure the vehicle meets or exceeds durability targets throughout its lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead durability attribute planning and tracking from concept through certification and launch
- Develop durability test plans, protocols, and criteria based on performance targets
- Analyze durability test data and simulation results; recommend corrective actions
- Coordinate with design, validation, simulation, NVH, thermal, structural, and test teams
- Identify risks, gaps, and root causes for durability issues and implement mitigation plans
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to durability attributes
- Drive cross-functional meetings to align objectives and close durability gaps
- Support CAE, physical testing, and correlation activities
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer quality expectations
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–8 years experience in durability attribute engineering in automotive or related industries
- Strong understanding of durability principles, load paths, fatigue, stress analysis
- Experience with durability testing (physical road load, environmental, accelerated tests)
- Familiarity with simulation tools like CAE/FEA (e.g., Ansys, HyperWorks, Simpack, Nastran)
- Ability to interpret test and simulation data and make engineering recommendations
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and reporting skills
- Good communication and cross-team coordination abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Structural Engineering
- Exposure to vehicle programs across structural, chassis, or powertrain durability
- Working knowledge of durability attribution tools and processes (Durability Workbench, Simcenter, etc.)
- Familiarity with NVH and load data analytics
