Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Design Engineer to join our team in Chennai, focusing on the development of vehicle upper body architecture, interior, and exterior components. This role is pivotal in shaping the overall vehicle aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturing feasibility, with a strong emphasis on enclosures and trims.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle upper body structures and enclosures (e.g., doors, hood, trunk, roof systems).
• Lead the design and integration of interior and exterior trims, ensuring aesthetic harmony, functionality, and ergonomic considerations.
• Contribute to the overall vehicle architecture development, ensuring seamless integration of all components.
• Ensure designs meet performance, safety, quality, and manufacturability targets.
• Collaborate closely with styling, CAE, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
• Conduct design reviews and implement engineering changes as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 to 8 years of experience in automotive design and development, specifically with upper body, interior, exterior, enclosures, or trims.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, Creo).
• Strong understanding of automotive design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T and PDM/PLM systems.
