Position: GitHub Enablement (TT70ST RM 4345)
Interview process – Virtual interview
What we are looking for
A hands-on GitHub automation developer who can develop custom workflows, actions, reusable automation components and integrations to enable Harman’s engineering and DevOps processes.
Mandatory skills
- Strong GitHub Actions development, workflow YAML and reusable workflows.
- Custom/composite actions, workflow triggers, jobs, dependencies and conditional execution.
- GitHub REST APIs, GraphQL APIs and webhooks.
- Python scripting for automation and API integrations.
- Hosted/self-hosted GitHub runners, secrets, permissions and GitHub Apps/token-based authentication.
- Integration with external engineering tools, development platforms and CI/CD systems.
- Debugging and troubleshooting workflow failures.
TA screening: We need a GitHub Actions developer who understands DevOps, not a generic DevOps engineer who has used GitHub Actions. Candidates must have actual development experience writing workflows, actions and API-based integrations, not merely executing pipelines.
Mandatory skill for Github : GitHub Actions/workflows, reusable workflows, composite actions, hosted or self-hosted runners, GitHub APIs, Python/YAML automation, OIDC/secrets, repository governance, GitHub Apps/webhooks, CI/CD standardization and troubleshooting.
Do not apply: Generic DevOps or Jenkins profiles without strong hands-on GitHub Actions, runner implementation and Python/API automation experience
GitHub Enablement : Responsible for designing, automating and supporting enterprise GitHub Actions solutions, including secure and cost-effective self-hosted runners on AWS EKS.
screening requirement : The candidate must have implemented GitHub Actions workflows and self-hosted runners—not only used existing pipelines. They must be able to explain how to deploy runners on EKS and select between GitHub-hosted and self-hosted runners based on cost, security and workload requirements.
Core mandatory skills
- Strong hands-on GitHub Actions and workflow YAML development
- Ability to create workflows from scratch and troubleshoot failed pipelines
- GitHub-hosted, larger and self-hosted runner architecture
- Runner cost, security, performance and workload-selection considerations
- Deploying and auto-scaling self-hosted runners on Kubernetes/EKS
- Actions Runner Controller (ARC), Helm and Docker
- Reusable workflows, composite actions and pipeline templates
- Python scripting and automation
- GitHub REST API and GraphQL
- Secrets, permissions, OIDC and secure authentication
- Linux, Kubernetes and CI/CD troubleshooting
