Position: Manufacturing Engineer – Process & Simulation (TT17ST RM 3911)

Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Chennai. This role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on simulation, process planning, and assembly sequence costing for vehicle chassis and related systems. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing process plans and assembly sequences for vehicle components, with a focus on chassis systems.
  • Utilize CAE tools and advanced simulation techniques (e.g., discrete event simulation, welding simulation, stamping simulation) to validate and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct assembly sequence costing analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with design, product engineering, and production teams to ensure manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
  • Analyze process data to identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support new product introductions from a manufacturing perspective.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process planning, or manufacturing simulation within the automotive or heavy equipment industry.
  • Familiarity with chassis manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Experience with CAE tools for manufacturing process simulation.
  • Strong analytical skills for assembly sequence costing and process optimization.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX) for layout and fixture design.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of robotics and automation in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.
