Position: Systems Engineer – Vehicle Features (Body Control Systems) (SML70ST RM 4293)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer – Vehicle Features (Body Control Systems) to lead the development and delivery of Body Control features across advanced vehicle programs. The role focuses on customer-facing systems including access, security, closures, lighting, and comfort functions, ensuring robust requirements definition, system design, integration, and validation. The ideal candidate will act as the technical focal point for Body Control features and collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, decompose, and manage Body Control feature requirements with full traceability across system, software, and hardware levels.
- Develop feature specifications, functional requirements, use cases, and interface definitions.
- Support system architecture development, technical trade-off studies, and decision-making.
- Lead and contribute to the development of:
o Access & Security Systems – Keyless Entry, PEPS, Digital Key, Immobilizer, and Alarm Systems.
o Closure Systems – Power Doors, Tailgates, Windows, Sunroof Systems, and associated safety features.
o Lighting Systems – Interior, Exterior, Ambient, and Signature Lighting.
o Comfort & Convenience Features – Seats, Mirrors, Personalization, and User Profile functions.
o Body Electronics – BCMs, Sensors, Actuators, and Vehicle Status Monitoring. - Define and manage system interfaces across body, security, lighting, infotainment, and connectivity systems.
- Support integration, verification, and validation activities, including DVP planning, vehicle integration, and defect resolution.
- Participate in acceptance testing, technical reviews, and risk management activities.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, vehicle integration, cybersecurity teams, and external suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering.
- Proven experience in Body Electronics or Vehicle Feature Systems development.
- Strong expertise in requirements engineering, system architecture, integration, and validation.
- Good understanding of vehicle E/E architectures and Body Control Systems.
- Hands-on experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Familiarity with automotive standards including ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with tools such as DOORS, Polarion, JIRA, Enterprise Architect, CANoe, and CANalyzer.
- Exposure to MBSE, SysML, and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of diagnostics protocols (UDS, DoIP).
- Understanding of Functional Safety and Automotive Cybersecurity concepts.
