Position: Virtio/vSkipGen Engineer (CE79SI RM 3519)
We are seeking an engineer to join our vSkipGen and Virtio development efforts. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of the following skills and attributes (not all are required, but a stronger match will enable faster contribution)
Virtio expertise – Experience developing or extending Virtio devices (virtio-audio, virtio-gpu, virtio-vsock, virtio-net) and an understanding of Virtio specification internals.
Standards exposure – Familiarity with the OASIS Virtio Technical Committee or similar standards bodies, and/or upstream contributions to QEMU or Linux kernel Virtio subsystems.
Cloud/container familiarity – Knowledge of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows for virtualized environments.
Strong autonomy – Able to take high-level requirements, research/architect solutions, and execute with minimal oversight.
Nice-to-have – Public speaking, open-source contributions, or authorship of proposals to influence industry standards.
We need someone comfortable in an expert-level role who can operate independently with minimal management, support both embedded/edge virtualization and cloud-hosted environments, and contribute meaningfully to R&D and standards discussions
