About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Plastic Part Designer in Pune to join our product development team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing injection-moulded plastic components for automotive, consumer goods, or industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop plastic parts using 3D CAD software (CATIA/SolidWorks/NX/Creo)
- Create detailed 2D drawings with GD&T specifications
- Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis for injection molding processes
- Collaborate with tooling vendors for mold design reviews
- Conduct material selection based on application requirements
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and optimize part designs
- Support prototype development and validation testing
- Work with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and suppliers
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards and customer specifications
Education : B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Plastics Engineering or equivalent
Exp : 5-8 years in plastic part/component design
Tools : Proficiency in CATIA V5/SolidWorks/NX/Creo
Skills : GD&T, DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, material selection
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Class-A surface design
- Knowledge of plastic materials (PP, ABS, PA, PC, POM, etc.)
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP documentation
- Exposure to EV/automotive components design
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
