Position: Sheet metal Part Designer (TT58ST RM 3792)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Designer in Pune to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing sheet metal components for automotive, industrial equipment, or enclosure applications with hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop sheet metal parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software (CATIA/SolidWorks/NX/Creo)
• Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T specifications
• Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis for sheet metal fabrication
• Design components considering bending, punching, laser cutting, and welding processes
• Conduct bend allowance and K-factor calculations
• Develop flat pattern layouts for manufacturing
• Collaborate with vendors for tooling and die design reviews
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and optimize designs for cost and weight
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation
• Work with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and suppliers

Education : B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Exp : 5-8 years in sheet metal part/component design
Tools : Proficiency in CATIA V5/SolidWorks/NX/Creo (Sheet Metal Module)
Skills: GD&T, DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, flat pattern development

Preferred Skills

• Experience with BIW (Body-in-White) or chassis components
• Knowledge of various sheet metal materials (MS, SS, Aluminum, Galvanized Steel)
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA documentation
• Exposure to EV components or battery enclosure design
• Understanding of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Spot Welding)
• Knowledge of surface treatment and coating processes
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
